Overview

Lite 3 is an edge-lighting utility designed to provide ambient notification and Always-On Display effects. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Lite 3 does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All processing occurs locally on your device.

Information We Do Not Collect

Lite 3 operates entirely offline. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII), usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or device identifiers.

No account creation or login is required.
No data is sent to external servers.
No third-party analytics or crash reporting SDKs are integrated.
No cookies or tracking technologies are used.

Local Data & Preferences

All user preferences (language selection, edge style, color, thickness, speed, trigger mode) are stored locally using Android SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when the app is uninstalled.

Required Permissions

Lite 3 requests the following Android permissions solely to enable core functionality. Each permission is explained below in accordance with Google Play’s Permission Declaration requirements.

SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW

Required to draw edge-lighting effects over other applications and the lock screen. The overlay is non-interactive and does not capture touch events.

BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE

Required to trigger lighting sequences when notifications arrive. We do not read message content, sender details, or notification text. We only detect the presence of a notification to activate the edge light.

REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS

Required to keep the background overlay service alive so that edge lighting remains reliable. Without this, the operating system may terminate the service.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE

Required to maintain a persistent foreground service that renders the edge overlay, ensuring the OS does not kill the process during memory pressure.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Required to optionally restart the edge-lighting service after device reboot if the user has enabled Always-On mode.

Notification Access Disclosure

When you enable Notification Listener access, Lite 3 receives a signal that a notification has arrived. We do not access, log, or transmit the content, title, body, sender, or any metadata of your notifications. The listener is used exclusively as a trigger mechanism to illuminate the screen edges.

Overlay & Screen Data

The overlay service renders graphics directly onto a system overlay window using Android’s WindowManager. Lite 3 does not:

Capture screenshots or screen recordings.
Record or observe user interactions with underlying apps.
Access content displayed by other applications.

The overlay is transparent in the center (Active mode) or displays a pure-black background (AOD mode) to ensure OLED pixel safety. No visual data is processed or stored.

Data Security

Because Lite 3 does not collect or transmit data, there is no centralized database or server infrastructure to secure. All local preferences are protected by Android’s standard application sandboxing. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all stored preferences.

Children’s Privacy

Lite 3 is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.

Third-Party Services

Lite 3 does not integrate any third-party SDKs, advertising networks, analytics providers, or social media plugins. There are no external data processors.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
